Welcome! My name is Lisa and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I hold a Master's degree in Social Work from Indiana University and have 11 years experience in the Social Work field in the areas of child welfare, advocacy, prevention, crisis management and mental health services. My therapeutic experience has been diverse and has included work with individuals, couples and families of all ages. I am passionate about clinical work and have specialized in the areas of addiction and recovery, sexual abuse, domestic violence, trauma, and suicide prevention. In practice, I am committed to providing a safe environment for those I work with and I utilize Solution-focused therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness skills, meditation skills development and Systems approaches to tailor a specific treatment approach for each client. I am dedicated to advocating for social justice and attempt to foster personal growth and individual empowerment in others.
In terms of availability, I work hard to make myself as available as possible for my clients. I check and respond to messages at least once daily Mondays through Friday. On weekends, I do review messages as they come in and will respond as I am able if it is urgent. I also offer several different options for live sessions (chat, phone or video) and these are scheduled by appointment only- but I do work with each client to find a plan that works for their needs.
I look forward to working with you!

Lisa is great! I really get a lot out of our sessions.
Lisa is awesome and I am very thankful for her.
Lisa Cooper and I communicate at least one time a week. She makes sure that she addresses each of my concerns mentioned in my response. She is always respectful of my feelings and guides me to investigate possible solutions that might help, rather than "telling" me what strategy I should use for personal growth. Lisa is very compassionate, experienced and insightful. She is always spot on with her confirmation of my feelings and my grief. Losing a loved one who died by suicide makes the grief process more complicated. I am so glad to have a counselor who "gets it". There is an old me and a new me, and Lisa is helping me learn how to figure out how I can navigate relationships and my grief so that I grow stronger and more mindful of my feelings.
I have met with Lisa only a couple of times but I can tell you that just in those two sessions my anxiety has gone down 100 fold... Lisa gets it.. Lisa has empathy... Lisa expertly responds with very pointed resources and guidance that is helpful and does not add to the trauma but lowers the traumatic effects I am experiencing in my current everyday life. I feel extremely grateful to have found her
Lisa is so wonderful. Truly the first time I’ve felt that a therapist has “gotten me” so many breakthroughs in the short time that I was with her before I had to change because of a move. Can not recommend highly enough.
I look forward to my session with Lisa every week. I only wish they could be longer! Lisa has an impressive awareness as a counselor. She often helps me put my thoughts and emotions into words when I am struggling. She validates and supports me without making me feel like a child. Lisa does a great job of pushing deeper with certain subjects, but not crossing a line of making me feel too overwhelmed. I really enjoy working with Lisa and hope we will get to continue our working relationship for as long as possible.
Lisa has been super helpful- always respectful and a good listener. I like how she dives deep into researching topics that I would like to talk about. I look forward to my sessions with Lisa and feel that therapy with her has had a positive impact on my health and wellbeing.
Lisa has been able to relate to my issues in just a few messages. She sees what my issues are and is giving me advice on how to overcome them
There's so much to say with little time! Lisa has made this step so much more smooth than I expected. I was skeptical about communication over the web but this truly fits my comfort level and works around my family and every day life. She's available most of the day and easy to talk to. She has really kept me focused on my goals and very compassionate. I don't feel judged and I trust her guidance and experience. It's nice to have someone that doesn't just flip through a file and reaches out if it's been a bit since last communication. She knows my story and doesn't forget!
Although I have a profession that involves me helping others, I found it difficult to help myself. I appreciate the positive reinforcement Lisa offered, as well as her ability to reflect and ask further questions about what I share to really understand the situation. Lisa was able to illuminate where my issues were originating from and she helped me work through them. It was helpful and relieving to be able to talk with a professional, especially in a comfortable setting. Thanks, Lisa!
I’m so glad I decided to incorporate Lisa into my life in this way. She’s patient, listens, and always has thoughtful observations and feedback.
She is very respectful!
In the month I have been talking to Lisa, she has helped me tremendously. I have been avoiding counseling for a long time due to the cost, and this is just as helpful if not more helpful to me than face to face counseling for a fraction of the price. I can take the time to type out how I feel and she takes the time to respond with friendly words and advice. I would definitely reccomend this service, and Lisa to anyone I know needing to talk to someone. Thank you!
Lisa Cooper has been a lifesaver for me. She has helped me so much with my anxiety, depression, and all of the other things that I have experienced. She gives me worksheets when she sees fit to help me better understand and work through my problems. She responds in a timely manner. I can always tell that she has taken the time to really read and understand the messages I send her, as she always responds in a helpful, caring, and constructive way. I can tell that she actually cares and wants the best for me. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone.
Lisa has provided resources and helpful advice to help me cope through difficult times. She always listens and states reasons as to why I feel the way I do and ways to understand those feelings. I definitely recommend her.
Lisa has been the much needed confidant in my life. She seems very easy to talk to! I would definitely recommend her.
Lisa Cooper has been a Godsend to me. She listens, understands and offers great advice. I am somewhat housebound sure to chronic fatigue syndrome and dealing with layers of trauma. Which I believe contributed largely to my condition. She checks in with me, tries to make herself available as needed and is very kind and easy to understand her feedback and I appreciate her support. I highly recommend her!!
