Life can be very difficult, at times, and situations develop when a person can feel "stuck" and have difficulty seeing a way out. I utilize an eclectic approach to counseling and aim to generate a comfortable environment which will eliminate that "under the microscope" feeling, some people tell me they fear when seeking counseling. I initiate counseling with person centered, solution oriented strategies, which will allow the client to begin taking steps toward relieving stress while generating hope for a more fulfilling future. I utilize, active and reflective listening, mirroring, Rational Emotive Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as re-framing, and occasionally homework to help enable self motivation and the confidence to achieve personal life successes. I believe that people can learn the confidence to deal with many difficult situations, with encouragement, compassion, self understanding and the acquisition of new skills to approach problems which may arise in the future. Though I have studied and respect many religions and will do my very best to remain aligned with your personal beliefs, I do not provide religious counseling.
I have a MA in counseling from the University of South Florida, with a focus on mental health. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor in the State of Ohio. I started my career in Florida nearly 27 years ago and have my primary experience in dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, PTSD and bipolar disorder . I have extensive experience helping adult survivors of abuse as well as having presided over a group home for sexually abused girls.
I am not formal or rigidly structured in my counseling method. I believe in treating each person individually and it takes a bit of time to learn about each person's perceptions and history. I work toward being compassionate, understanding and patient in my efforts to help you discover solutions for problems you are experiencing.
I look forward to working with you!

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Lisa Fox. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Lisa great! She listens to me and doesn't treat me a number.
She’s helped me a lot. Love her.
After only 2 sessions, I believe I was matched with the perfect therapist for my situation. She knows my tendencies and nature, as well as how to help my problems perfectly.
Lisa has been wonderful to work with. She’s helped me question some of my repetitive thinking and realize that I’ve made up “rules” in my own head that don’t serve me. I haven’t worked with her very long but I already find myself coming back to things she’s said when I’m experiencing difficulties. Shes great and I’d 100% recommend her!
Enjoyed my conversations with Lisa. Easy to talk too and very good at hearing me.
I am only a few sessions into therapy with Lisa, but I so appreciate her already. She is quirky in a way that feels relatable and real to me, is a great active listener, and makes me feel comfortable to share or let her lead the conversation. I look forward to continuing to work with her.
Lisa is great
I felt a fairly instant connection to Lisa. She gets me. She's very approachable and made me feel extremely comfortable confiding in her. So far it's been great!
She understands my plight and empathizes with me in a really human way. She also shares insight into what others can be doing to influence my own thought pattern and ways I could think about myself in those situations. I feel like I can actually talk to someone now.
Lisa is wonderful. She really listens to direct therapy so I get the most out of it.
The only medical professional that is willing to listen to me and give me the support I greatly need. She is kind, professional, and has great credentials . I love that I can be in my own environment and feel comfortable to talk to a therapist. Lisa has gone above and beyond my expectations. Thank you Better Help for offering this amazing service
Lisa truly listens to me and offers real advice. I appreciate her so much!
Lisa is intelligent, compassionate, and effective. Hands down the best counselor I’ve ever met.
Lisa is very kind and open minded with decades of experience. She shows empathy and understanding even with topics she hasn't personally gone through herself.
Lisa has helped me and is always there to listen. She is very supportive and makes me feel better. I’ve learned and grown a lot from speaking with her.
Lisa has helped me sort my way through some very difficult topics in my pandemic life. If you are looking for a positive supportive person in your life I highly recommend her!!
Lisa listened to me and responded supportively. She related her personal experience and provided suggestions. Lisa checked on me a couple of weeks later.
I really enjoy the counseling sessions with Lisa. I swing back and forth with my moods and just having someone to talk with in both the ups and the downs is a security I really enjoy.
I really enjoyed my experience with Lisa. We were able to bond over a few things, and she responds to my concerns in a most efficient manner.
Lisa has been an awesome sounding board. She had made me feel seen and given me great perspective on situations. Her advice is practical and easy to implement. I've seen improvement in my family relationships as a direct result of her help.
Sweet and kind therapist. Really respects you and I feel in good hands. She’s on your side.
I've had great conversation with Lisa, and I'm comfortable with her.
