About me

Hi, I'm Lisa Hrycushko, a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science in Counseling at the University of North Texas. I have 8 years experience in private practice and university settings and have worked extensively with adult clients struggling with a wide range of life challenges. My clinical experience includes assisting individuals and groups with abuse, trauma, grief, depression, and emotional and behavioral concerns. I am especially interested in personal growth, relationships, women’s emotional health, self awareness, and stress reduction. My approach to counseling is empathetic and holistic. I believe in utilizing the mind- body connection in order to effectively access the body’s healing power. Life has its challenges and during this uncertain time it helps to have extra support and encouragement to confidently face the future with hope and optimism. I became a counselor because I love helping people find their inner strength and motivation to make positive changes in their lives. I look forward to working with you!

Talking with Lisa is like a breath of fresh air. She feels like a friend who listens, doesn’t judge, and helps me understand my thought process. She sends me things outside of our time together that will help me get through the week. I look forward to meeting with her and always feel better coming out of it!

I love the fact that Lisa is open to the needs of the individual she works with. I am sure I have a unique way of doing things basically because I am so fed up of being screwed up. She works with me so well.

In just a few text sessions I feel like Lisa understands me better than the few in person sessions I had with a previous therapist in my hometown.
