About me

Greetings!

I am a licensed clinical social worker and educator. I have worked in various settings (e.g. inpatient, outpatient, primary care, medical specialty units and private practice) serving an array of adult clientele between the ages of 18 and 99. I have served clients with various diagnoses to include aging, anxiety, bereavement, caregiver stress, chronic illness, depression, divorce, dual diagnoses, employment related stressors, grief, low self-efficacy/self-esteem, marital conflict, psychosocial stressors, and relationship problems.

My philosophy of practice is to be an active partner in pursuit of your desired treatment goals for an improved quality of life. That pursuit is fueled by your willingness to make additions, changes and sacrifices, if required. Doing so can be challenging, if not overwhelming and difficult so establishing and maintaining a therapeutic relationship is critically important. I utilize various treatment modalities to include cognitive-behavioral therapy, humanistic, mindfulness, motivational interviewing and solution-focused approaches. I believe you are the expert in your own life whose personal strengths can be incorporated in counseling. My demeanor is compassionate, empathetic, forthright and, when appropriate, humorous. Individual supportive therapy provides an opportunity to gain clarity and to receive support in a manner that is non-judgmental and personalized.

Feel free to contact me if you would like some help to navigate through some difficult circumstances, to learn how to use new skills and experience heightened sense of satisfaction with yourself and your life.

Kind regards,
Dr. Rasheed
