Hi my name is Lisa Tuthill and I am a License Professional Counselor (LPC). I hold my LPC in the state of Wyoming where I lived for ten years. I recently moved back to California where I am pursuing to transfer my licence so I can hold one in Wyoming and California. I have been in the mental health field for over 15 years. I have worked with a variety of clients in a various settings from Institutions, Rape Crisis Center's, Parenting groups to Private Practices. I have worked with children as young as two, teenager's, young adults, adults as old as sixty and couples and families. Clients I have worked with have ranged from server mental illness, intellectual disabilities, teenage struggles, and those who are looking to become more well rounded in their lives. I have also worked with clients that have Bi-polar, anxiety, depression, disassociate personalities, and clients that just want better coping skills.
My approach to counseling is to provide an environment that allows you to feel comfortable and safe to open up about what you would like to work on. I have what I call a tool bag that allows me to find what fits for each client as we are all unique. Some techniques I use is Mindfulness a holistic approach. I believe it is important to be able to ground ourselves as we continue to journey in this world. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) approach, Gestalt and I have used Play Therapy and Sand Tray although those are difficult to do in this setting. My approach is also to get to know the client and meet them where they are at emotionally.

She’s great and has truly helped me reach the next level in my personal development and mental health.
Honestly, she’s very understanding and kind, but not in that dismissive "I’ll listen to all your problems and sit there" kind of way. She’s actively trying to help me dissect the issue at hand and figure out how to move past it, not just that, but also how to not let these thinking patterns hinder me in the future. I honestly just really appreciate her so much.
Lisa is a great listener, I always appreciate her input and she seemed to understand me and my issues very quickly. she often points me towards something I hadn't noticed myself and offers a variety of responses.I absolutely love working with her and can recommend her strongly!
Very supportive and nice.
Lisa is an excellent mental health care provider! She really listens to me, and offers not only valuable insights but tools to help me cope with life. I never feel like it is a chore or that she is hard to talk to. I love love love working with her and would recommend her to anyone! I am very impressed.
I can honestly say that I’m extremely impressed with the service I’m receiving and Lisa’s level of expertise. She’s intent on getting to root of my issues, she’s really intuitive and understanding and she’s supplied me with successful mindful techniques to use in the meantime. She is also extremely accommodating as there’s a fairly big time difference between the two of us. I honestly couldn’t be happier with how things are going, it’s such a relief!
Very understanding and exceptional knowledge to deal with any difficult situations.
