About me

I am a licensed clinical social worker/counselor working in Murphy NC. I have over 25 years of experience working with individuals, families, adolescents, youth, and children. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, and more. I am a trained professional in trauma related issues.
My counseling philosophy is one of mutual respect and acceptance. I believe that all people have struggles at times and we often learn coping behaviors that get in our way in later circumstances. All people can benefit from a warm and interactive therapeutic experience. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and a non-invasive therapy called EMDR, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. I will tailor your therapeutic experience to meet your unique and specific needs.

Lisa is simply amazing! She is knowledgeable, highly educated, and down to earth all at the same time. She makes it very easy to open up to and has constructive insight. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
