If you're here, it's likely because you're feeling confused or torn up about how to handle some part of your life, like a lot of people right now, and it's affecting you in a way you wish it wasn't. I want to help you get past that, and get to a place where you're feeling more confident about your ability to manage the difficult situations you come across, whether it's with your family, in your relationships, or at work.
I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California, and I've practiced therapy for over ten years. During that time, I've worked with people dealing with the stresses and anxieties of life, parents experiencing difficulties with their children, people struggling with addiction in either themselves or loved ones, survivors of trauma and abuse, and even fellow workers in the helping professions who are facing burnout.
In working with clients, the number one thing I like to help them see is that it's normal to react to what is happening around you. It's human nature to have an emotional response to events in your life. What comes after that emotional response is often what people want to change, and where I come in. I can offer you a neutral opinion on the situation you are facing, and then work with you to find a solution that is realistic for your life. What works for you may not be what works for others, and that's okay.
I use a Person-Centered approach overall, which means you set the tone for all of our interactions. I also like to use Strength-based techniques, which focuses on what you are doing well already and builds on it; Cognitive-Behavioral techniques, which looks at how our thoughts influence our behaviors; and Gestalt techniques, which allow us to look at your difficulties from different perspectives.
I use an assortment of techniques from other approaches as well. I will always do my best to individualize my work to your specific needs, and empower you to make the changes you want to see in your life. You've already made one in reaching out for help, and I look forward to working with you.

I just started my therapy. She’s been very sweet so far though.
I’m so glad I was able to be matched with Lisa! I feel like I got lucky. She is very attentive and helps me think about things in a different way. I love how she has something calming about her.. Very sweet and is very empathetic. I really appreciate what we talk about because even though it’s been a short time, I feel like I’ve grown!
Lisa is highly attentive and tuned it to my needs. Talking to her has been a huge help and I’m grateful for her listening ear and expertise.
Lisa is simply fantastic! I have been working with her for almost a year now. She has helped me through ups and downs in both my professional and personal/family challenges. She always responds within 24 hours (or gives plenty of warning if she won’t be able to) and each time I get a response, I find it helps me regain calm and perspective. I have absolutely no doubt that my life is better today than it would have been if I had not spent the last 10 months messaging back and forth with Lisa. She has also always been available for me to do live sessions when I really need them.
As a side-note (and having nothing to do with Lisa directly), I think it is important for people to have the right expectations when it comes to getting the most out of BetterHelp. You are not going to be able to hash everything out in a few days (especially if you’re not doing live sessions) but message-by-message, slowly but consistently over time, you will get better. And I think Lisa Wyatt is the absolute ideal when it comes to having that long conversation. She has been that for me. :-)
Lisa is extremely helpful and is someone who takes what you say to heart. She responds very quickly and makes you feel comfortable right off off the bat. Thanks Lisa!
Lisa has been so understanding and helpful in processing my emotions and experiences. She responds extremely quickly and gives the right mix of commentary and advice! I would highly recommend speaking with Lisa.
My experience with Lisa as my counselor has been great. She is dedicated to providing the help and support I need. She checks in with me regularly and is attentive to helping me. Hard times feel easier with her support. Thanks Lisa! :)
Lisa is very responsive, accommodating and extremely flexible with her schedule. She does not sugarcoat to make me feel better. That is the whole purpose of counseling to begin with. Very professional!
I asked for daily affirmations. Lisa Wyatt sent me two a day. I'm very lucky to have this help.
Lisa is THE best. She's thoughtful, caring, and incredibly supportive/good about checking in on you. She honestly changed my whole mindset and helped me be able to trust others....something I've never been able to do-which might sound crazy, but after lots of chaos growing up and abusive relationships, I needed to learn to trust others and LOVE myself. She's great.
Lisa is a great! She's receptive and offers great advice. I would highly recommend her!
