Lolade Bakrin, LPC
About me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and doctoral student in Counselor Education and Supervision with experience working with adolescents, young adults, and adults. I support clients dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship concerns, self-esteem issues, and life transitions. My goal is to provide a space where clients feel comfortable talking openly about their experiences without fear of judgment.
My counseling approach is primarily based in CBT, while also using person-centered and trauma-informed approaches when appropriate. I work with clients to better understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors affect their daily lives and relationships. Together, we identify patterns, explore challenges, and develop practical coping strategies that can be used outside of sessions.
I have experience working in school-based and community mental health settings with clients from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Much of my work has focused on helping individuals manage emotional stress, improve communication, regulate emotions, and navigate personal and academic pressures. I also understand that beginning therapy can feel uncomfortable or overwhelming, so I aim to create a calm and supportive environment where clients can move at a pace that feels right for them.
