About me

Hello, , I am Lori Centineo, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of New York. I earned my Master of Social Work degree at The University of Albany and have been practicing for the past six years. Prior to being a social worker, I was an elementary school teacher. While I enjoyed the teaching profession very much, my desire to help others in a more direct manner lead me to return to school, to begin a new career and chapter in my life. Since beginning my practice, I have had success working with adults, children, families and couples in outpatient settings to address issues related to depression, anxiety, grief, anger, family dynamics, trauma and transitions.

My warm, friendly and empathetic approach fosters an environment where clients feel accepted and safe, clearing the way for the development of therapeutic relationship that is key to success in therapy. I see therapy as a team approach between the client and the therapist, with the client leading the way, as each client is the real expert his/her life. I am skillful in many treatment modalities, such as Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Mindfulness and Emotion Focused Therapy. I personalize my approach with each client, contingent on his or her needs, skills and persona.

I look forward to beginning your therapeutic journey with you.
