About me

Welcome! Something in your life has initiated this search for support and you’ve come to the right place. I applaud you. It takes a wise and brave person to seek out counseling support in order to get the life they want. I want to help you get there. Here is a little about me and how I plan to support you:
I have a bachelor's degree in psychology for the University of Maryland and a master’s degree in marriage, family, and child counseling from the University of Phoenix and am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado. I have eight years of experience working with individuals and families in residential facilities, prison, and private practice. My approach is grounded in compassion, mindfulness, and social-emotional development. Working with in-patient and prison populations to tackle struggles they were having and build on their strengths was an experience that taught me humility and how to better meet my clients where they are at. I’ve worked with individuals who have faced significant trauma in their lives, those recovering from PTSD, and those who have had suicidal thoughts. I have had the pleasure of helping individuals with complete lack of self-esteem and motivation about themselves and other find hope, grow confidence and believe there is a better life waiting for them. I am well versed in assisting clients to identify the distorted beliefs they have about themselves and others, challenging them, and assisting the client to develop and internalize more accurate beliefs.
My therapeutic style involves helping you to arrive at insight, strategies, and tools that you can begin using immediately to make positive change in your life. We don’t just sit and talk. I love to provide you with concrete tools wherever possible and help you to have a plan for the following days before our next session, if that is the pace you would like to move at. Most importantly, we are going to make sure we are making progress on goals that you have for yourself. I will be there to guide, encourage, challenge, and support you throughout your journey.
My belief is, as a therapist, I need to view an individual as a whole and understand the environment, relationships, biology, and trauma that makes them unique. I'm a firm believer that, to make a better future for ourselves, we must understand the past that has created the individual we see today. With a grounded and whole-person approach, I seek to foster the self-esteem, resilience, awareness, and well-being inherent in the individuals I work with.
