Dr. Lucy Flitton, BACP, NCPS
About me
I am a licensed psychotherapist based in the UK with 15 years of professional work experience. In terms of my professional background, I have experience in helping people, adults, adolescents and children overcome their struggles. Within my practice as an Integrative therapist, I apply different approaches to your presenting story while always working within a person-centred framework. I am also a developmental psychologist, and specialise in trauma and trauma related issues. In addition, I have trained in women’s related health issues, especially those related to the menopause. I thus integrate aspects of Developmental Psychology, Neurobiology, and Health Psychology.
I apply a life course approach to my work and therefore explore peoples struggles at an individual level as well as from a more societal based perspective. I have worked with people with various issues including trauma related struggles such as stress and anxiety, addictions and their co-occuring difficulties, relationship difficulties and struggles with poor sleep. In addition, I am a credentialed Positive Psychology coach. I have also trained as a somatic/body-based coach and incorporate techniques such as breath work and mindfulness while working with clients. Additionally, I make use of Existential and Humanistic principles to help you explore your strengths that will assist you in overcoming obstacles which you feel hinder you. Based on my training as an Existential coach, I also explore and analyse the way we use language to shape our reality. I also look at how we use language to navigate and interpret our relationship dynamics. Our work together will enable you to flourish and reach your full potential.

Dr. Flitton is kind, understanding, and very easy to talk to. From the start, I felt safe and listened to. She helps me think about things in a new way and gives gentle advice that really helps. I feel like she understands what I’m going through and supports me without any pressure. Her sessions are helping me feel stronger and more able to cope with things in my life. I would recommend her to anyone who needs support with their mental health.

Lucy has transformed my confidence in setting boundaries and has helped me to truly understand myself. She is so supportive, empathetic and really cares about what I have to say. I have also really appreciated her knowledge and expertise in trauma responses - I didn’t realise I was suffering from trauma at first but Lucy immediately recognised it and explained the psychology behind the way I was feeling which really made me feel seen and supported. She is a wonderful person to confide in and I couldn’t recommend her enough!

Dr. Flitton is a very professional, experienced, caring, and empathetic therapist who has given me a tremendous amount of tools to help in my progress. As a therapist with a strong connection to the artistic world, she also offered a lot of understanding and insight on the topics of an artistic career (which is my case), and was a safe space to communicate with about the particular insecurities and difficulties that can come with a career in the spotlight. I highly recommend Dr. Flitton and greatly value our work together.
