About me

I am licensed in North Carolina with over 25 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, trauma and abuse, & depression.

I believe you have unique strengths and skills and we can build upon these to create growth. While each therapeutic relationship is different, my style tends to include gently challenging you to consider new ways of showing up in your life and at other times, teaching new skills. I may suggest "homework" between sessions to support your growth. This happens in a collaborative therapeutic relationship where you are heard and supported as you move toward the vision of the life you want to create. Together, we will celebrate your successes and address areas that challenge you.

It takes courage to seek change in your life. Signing up for therapy is a first step and I am here to support you in your journey.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Dr. Lynda Black. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Dr Black’s availability was a godsend! I needed a fresh start with therapy. As a psychologist myself, I was super picky about the background, education, and experience to help me. She has been amazing. I don’t think I would be where I am today (no anxiety and feeling grounded) without her help. After suffering two car accidents (not my fault—rear end hits) I was freaked out about my brain recovery—or rather the lack of recovery. We’ve worked through that.

Appreciate the safe space provided and the real actionable takeaways along with the thought provoking points. I never feel judged or less than in the process so far and appreciate that!

After just the first session with Dr. Black I felt she understood me and what I was struggling with. She was empathetic, kind, and helpful. It was a big relief to finally find someone to talk to who I felt actually heard me.
