Hello and welcome to BetterHelp! My name is Lynnette and I applaud you for beginning this journey we call therapy. Whether you’re new to the therapy experience or you’ve been in therapy before, I am here to help you along your journey to wellness and wholeness. I have a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Chicago and 30+ years’ experience. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and have engaged individuals, couples, and families in a variety of settings addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, interpersonal and family conflict as well as parent-child relationships. I have also helped clients improve self-esteem, coping skills, adjust to major life changes as well as improve problem-solving and decision-making skills. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing are the primary approaches utilized and clients are encouraged to actively participate in the therapy process by setting their own goals and evaluating progress towards achieving them. Finally, I am concerned about all aspects of a client’s life therefore nothing is “off-limits” during therapy. Thank you for allowing me to share my background with you. I have daytime, evening, and weekend hours to meet your needs and look forward to working with you!

Lynnette is Great at listening to me and getting to the Root of things. She does check ins before sessions and lets me know she’s here anytime I love that about her.

I just wanted to give you a big thanks and a virtual hug for all your insights, words of encouragement, and all the positive reinforcements/affirmations. I didn't realize that I was holding on to so much baggage until we talked. Also, I have a different perspective on my life as a husband, father, and individual. I am learning to be more intentional about life in general because as you mentioned, things don't fall into place. My goal is to continue trying to strengthen my marriage and build my confidence as a father and individual.
Thank you!!

Lynnette did an amazing job getting me comfortable with therapy, as a first time for me. I was able to open up and talk about things i never knew were even an issue. That really helped me understand why I struggle with the things I struggled with. She helped with different topics, always open minded and offered tons of guidance through each session. Very appreciative of my time spent with her.

I only had a few sessions with Lynette but in that short time she gave me lots to think about and lots to chew on, which is exactly what I needed. She was quick to respond to my messages, always lent a listening ear, and even went over my journal entries during our video appointments to check back in with how I was feeling at the time versus how I am feeling now. I appreciate Lynette and her work so much. It's so refreshing to have a therapist who looked like me, somebody who I could relate to and somebody who I felt could relate to me.
