Hello and welcome to BetterHelp! My name is Lynnette and I applaud you for beginning this journey we call therapy. Whether you’re new to the therapy experience or you’ve been in therapy before, I am here to help you along your journey to wellness and wholeness. I have a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Chicago and 30+ years’ experience. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and have engaged individuals, couples, and families in a variety of settings addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, interpersonal and family conflict as well as parent-child relationships. I have also helped clients improve self-esteem, coping skills, adjust to major life changes as well as improve problem-solving and decision-making skills. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing are the primary approaches utilized and clients are encouraged to actively participate in the therapy process by setting their own goals and evaluating progress towards achieving them. Finally, I am always concerned about all aspects of a client’s life therefore nothing is “off-limits” during therapy. Thank you for allowing me to share my background with you. I have daytime, evening, and weekend hours to meet your needs and look forward to working with you!

I absolutely adored Lynnette as my therapist! She is a very good listener and had great follow up questions! Highly recommend!
Lynnette did an amazing job getting me comfortable with therapy, as a first time for me. I was able to open up and talk about things i never knew were even an issue. That really helped me understand why I struggle with the things I struggled with. She helped with different topics, always open minded and offered tons of guidance through each session. Very appreciative of my time spent with her.
I only had a few sessions with Lynette but in that short time she gave me lots to think about and lots to chew on, which is exactly what I needed. She was quick to respond to my messages, always lent a listening ear, and even went over my journal entries during our video appointments to check back in with how I was feeling at the time versus how I am feeling now. I appreciate Lynette and her work so much. It's so refreshing to have a therapist who looked like me, somebody who I could relate to and somebody who I felt could relate to me.
So far, my experience with Lynnette has already helped me identify some areas I've been struggling with. She's very supportive and understanding. I am looking forward to continuing my therapy journey with her.
Ms. Thomas is a very good therapist Who really cares about her clients and their mental health. She can address your issues by challenging you to be better, ask in a good hearted and kind way. I highly recommend her.
Lynnette helped me work through a lot of issues and showed me how to manage my life in a more organized manner. I appreciate all of the help and care she has provided and would highly recommend her as a therapist.

Great first session with Lynette. Couldn’t ask for a better listener.
She’s very understanding to my concerns and she wants to make therapy something that is beneficial to me. She has helped me a lot with what I’ve needed help with as well as things I’m now starting to realize.
