Sometimes during our lives we can experience anxiety, stress and depression. Life can feel difficult and we can’t cope, or perhaps we lose our direction and focus. This can be during times of personal distress, relationship difficulties, and major life changing events.Even events that are positive can cause us to falter along life’s path, leaving us feeling unable to decide on exactly how we want to move forward.
Gaining an understanding of our emotions, by reviewing and reflecting upon past and present events in our lives can often help us to gain clarity and feel more at ease within ourselves in the current moment. I have supported individuals and couples through short and long term counselling with a variety of concerns, some people come with specific concerns to address and others are initially unclear as to the cause of their unhappiness.
My aim is always to provide a clear, open, supportive and ethical service to enable individuals to explore, understand, and be resilient in their own lives, within what can be an increasingly difficult world. I offer one to one and couples counselling, a space for you to talk about whatever is on your mind in a confidential and safe environment.
I currently share my time between working in my private practice including a training consultancy. And as a Coordinator for Youth Counselling Service. Previously I have worked within the NHS, further education providers and several NHS Drug and Alcohol Misuse Services.
I work within the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy BACP Ethical Framework. The first meeting is an opportunity for you to begin to talk about your concerns, and for us to decide what support is appropriate for you.

I finally feel after decades there is light at the end of a long tunnel. I am prepared that I will need to work with my therapist to get results- To be heard and actually spoken with instead of at gave me such relief. Sometimes I feel you just connect and that’s how I feel. Hopeful and prepared to move forward.

I appreciate the way how Madison takes my concerns seriously. I feel like I'm being annoying when I repeat myself with the same problem but he made me feel very comfortable and encourages me to talk about it. He's being very casual while maintaining a professional relationship between us. And he's very patient and compassionate. Some sessions I have nothing to say or can't say much and he stays quiet with me. I never feel forced to talk and that's something I highly appreciate. I would recommend him anytime :)

I spoke to Madison for about 6/7 months and in that period he offered advice that has truly changed my outlook on my life and my anxieties. I never felt judged and our sessions always left me feeling a great sense of release and relief. I am truly grateful for the time spent working with him.

Can’t recommend Maddison enough! Maddison is very understanding and open minded. I felt at ease with him as he listened to my issues and opened my mind as to why they might be occurring due to previous traumas. He helped me massively on my self development journey and I can’t thank him enough for that.

I was a little sceptical initially, I wasn't sure if therapy was right for me but Madison listened to my concerns and help me work through the issues I had at the time and after our first session I already felt better and knew I was in good hands. Fast-forward six months and I feel like a different person, all thanks to Madison. Throughout everything I felt validated and listened to, and genuinely felt like Madison wanted to help me work towards being the best version of me possible.

Madison is very skilled at pointing to the right issues with little cues available, almost immediately understanding the problem. He is also very open to helping and arranging appointments at a short notice when possible for him, understanding urgent situations. I would have definitely liked a long-term therapy plan with him. He is very kind, polite, and timely.

The thing I appreciate most about Madison is that you really feel like he's listening and empathising. And where appropriate he makes your thoughts and feelings feel valid while offering comforting words and helpful, practical ways of coping in a healthy way.

Madison helped me a lot on my mental recovery and on my journey to learn to be present.
I wanted to discover my childhood and my relationships with parents/ family and with their help I got into very hidden places in my brain.
Madison always made me feel understood and they always asked the right question!
I highly recommend Madison, I’m grateful for the therapy.

I have really enjoyed working with Madison; his down to earth nature made it really easy to have open conversations about myself but also left room for introspection through the types of questions he asked. Not only did Madison listen and provide reassurance and validation of my experiences, he also offered tools and techniques to help me with similar situations moving forward. Weekly video calls were great, and I also appreciated being able to send a message outside of those scheduled times when extra support was needed, to which I was always met with a compassionate response.
