My name is Maggie Bolon (she/her) and I am a clinical social worker licensed in Idaho with over 9 years of experience working as a social worker. I received my Masters degree in 2013 and my clinical license in May 2021. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, and significant and persistent mental illness. I’ve also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. I have worked for Idaho Health and Welfare-Adult Mental Health, Skilled Nursing, Homeless Shelters, Psychiatric Inpatient Units, and as a College Adjunct Faculty. I am partnered and have 2 children, 2 dogs, and 9 chickens. I enjoy spending time in nature, gardening, swimming, walking, and drinking coffee. I love art, rocks, and plants and consider myself to have an eclectic style.
My therapy style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines CBT, DBT, ACT humanistic, solutions focused, and psychodynamic therapy. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I believe in trauma informed care and working together to find relief.
It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

Maggie is a wonderful therapist and I’m so grateful to have been matched with her! She is the sixth counselor/therapist I have had and hands down the one I have connected with and benefited from most. Maggie is a great listener and has provided me with advice, perspectives, and tools that have truly helped me cope with anxiety, build self esteem, and live in a way that feels true to myself. I’m so grateful for her as well as Betterhelp for helping us find each other!

Maggie is an amazing person. When I started counseling back in January I didn’t know what to expect. I had just come out to my parents and so I had a lot going on in my world that was hard to process. I was worried it would be awkward and uncomfortable. Or that the counselor may judge me for being trans. Maggie made it extremely welcoming. From the start I was almost more comfortable then talking to my own friends. She’s encouraging, listens, and is pushy when it’s needed. My favorite part about Maggie is after every session she makes it a point to say she’s proud of me. That’s not something I ever got as a kid and it’s something that I now know I needed. I’m really glad Maggie is in my life cuz I don’t believe I would be as far along in my confidence about my transition with out her. So Maggie if you read this thank you for everything.

Maggie's assistance with my relationship issues and insecurities has been beyond reproach. It is of benefit to share everything you are dealing with as she can understand where she can be of assistance. I have been extremely pleased with the help I have received. We all have issues to work on, be the conduit for becoming your best self, Maggie has helped with this for me.
