About me

Greetings, I'm Maggie, a dedicated therapist with a passion for fostering personal growth and emotional well-being. With over a decade of experience as a social worker and three years as a therapist, my journey has been shaped by my own experiences with ADHD and Autism, guiding me to embrace a unique perspective in the realm of mental health.

Professional Journey:

For the past 11 years, I've dedicated myself to the field of social work, navigating the intricate web of human emotions, connections, and struggles. In the last three years, I've transitioned into the role of a therapist, drawing from my rich background to create a therapeutic environment that is understanding, inclusive, and free of judgment.

Therapeutic Approach:

My therapy style is warm and interactive, aiming to create a safe space where individuals can explore their thoughts and emotions openly. I firmly believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I reject the notion of stigmatizing labels, understanding that each person's journey is unique and deserving of personalized care.

Philosophy:

My approach is a harmonious blend of humanistic and solutions-focused therapy. I am committed to tailoring our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Acknowledging the importance of trauma-informed care, I work collaboratively with clients to understand and navigate the impact of past experiences, fostering a path towards healing and relief.

Beliefs:

I firmly believe in the power of human connection and the potential for growth within each individual. My goal is to guide you on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment, utilizing evidence-based practices while maintaining a keen sensitivity to your personal narrative.

Collaborative Healing:

I view therapy as a partnership, a shared exploration where we work together to find relief and build resilience. Through open communication and mutual understanding, we'll embark on a journey that embraces your strengths and addresses challenges with a holistic and empowering mindset.

In our therapeutic space, diversity is celebrated, and individuality is honored. Let's embark on a journey of self-discovery and growth together, forging a path toward a more fulfilling and balanced life.

Maggie is a wonderful therapist and I’m so grateful to have been matched with her! She is the sixth counselor/therapist I have had and hands down the one I have connected with and benefited from most. Maggie is a great listener and has provided me with advice, perspectives, and tools that have truly helped me cope with anxiety, build self esteem, and live in a way that feels true to myself. I’m so grateful for her as well as Betterhelp for helping us find each other!

Maggie is an amazing person. When I started counseling back in January I didn’t know what to expect. I had just come out to my parents and so I had a lot going on in my world that was hard to process. I was worried it would be awkward and uncomfortable. Or that the counselor may judge me for being trans. Maggie made it extremely welcoming. From the start I was almost more comfortable then talking to my own friends. She’s encouraging, listens, and is pushy when it’s needed. My favorite part about Maggie is after every session she makes it a point to say she’s proud of me. That’s not something I ever got as a kid and it’s something that I now know I needed. I’m really glad Maggie is in my life cuz I don’t believe I would be as far along in my confidence about my transition with out her. So Maggie if you read this thank you for everything.
