Mandika Shah-Dhillon
About me
Hi, I’m Mandika — I’m really glad you’re here.
I’m a counselling psychotherapist offering a calm, steady space for anyone feeling overwhelmed, emotionally unsettled, or unsure of where to begin. Life can build up quietly, and reaching out for support is often the first moment you allow yourself to exhale.
I trained in Person-Centred Counselling and the Psychotherapeutic Relationship at the University of Warwick, and I’m currently completing my MSc in Psychology of Mental Health and Wellbeing. I’ve worked across private practice, university mental health services, addiction support, and crisis roles, supporting people through anxiety, stress, trauma, low mood, identity concerns, relationship patterns, and the quiet pressures that slowly accumulate over time.
My approach is warm, relational, and intuitive. You don’t need to arrive with perfect words or a clear picture of what you want to work on — not knowing where to start is a starting point, and we begin gently from there. I work integratively, drawing on person-centred foundations, trauma-aware practice, and contemporary psychological understanding to create a space that feels safe, grounded, and genuinely human.
Clients often describe therapy with me as steadying — a space where they can slow down, understand themselves with more clarity, and feel deeply heard rather than judged.
If you’re feeling lost, overwhelmed, or simply ready to explore what’s been sitting beneath the surface, you don’t have to do it alone. I’ll meet you exactly where you are, and we can navigate the next steps together, at your pace.
Whenever you’re ready, I’m here.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Mandika Shah-Dhillon. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
We built rapport in the first session which really helped to create a trusting environment where I felt I could immediately share my thoughts experiences and feelings. Only two sessions in and already feel like I have someone on my side helping to navigate some long standing issues. Would highly recommend Mandika.
