About me
Hi, I’m Marcella Strickland-Ramsay. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker ,educator grounded in compassion, authenticity, and respect for each person’s lived experience. My approach to therapy is person-centered and guided by the belief that every individual has the capacity for growth, healing, and change when given a safe and supportive space to explore their story. As your holder of Hope when all hope is gone, you remain the expert in this journey.
My work is influenced by Rogerian principles, emphasizing empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard. I also integrate insights from social work values, trauma-informed care, and culturally responsive practice—honoring the unique social, cultural, and spiritual identities that shape who we are.
I’ve worked in community-based settings, juvenile justice environments, and academic spaces, supporting individuals through challenges such as trauma, identity development, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. I believe healing is not only personal but also relational and collective—what we strengthen within ourselves ripples outward into our families and communities.
In our sessions, you can expect a collaborative, nonjudgmental environment where your voice leads the process. My goal is to meet you where you are, help you uncover what’s getting in the way of your wellness, and work together toward the life you want to create.
