About me

I work with adults who are thoughtful, capable, and often inwardly complex—people who may appear “high functioning” on the outside but feel misaligned, depleted, or quietly dissatisfied on the inside. Many of my clients are navigating transitions, identity shifts, burnout, relational patterns, or a growing sense that the strategies that once worked no longer do.

My primary orientation is Depth-based and Jungian-informed. This means we look beyond symptom management to understand the meaning behind what you’re experiencing. We pay attention to patterns over time, inner conflicts, instinctual signals, dreams, and the parts of you that may have been muted, overruled, or shaped by early environments. Rather than trying to “fix” you, this work supports greater coherence, self-trust, and a felt sense of being at home in your own life.

I’m particularly attuned to people who feel overstimulated, over-responsible, or disconnected from their natural rhythms—those who sense that something essential wants to reorganize, but aren’t sure how to listen without fear or self-override. Our work is paced, respectful, and collaborative, with an emphasis on helping you recognize what is authentic for you, not what you “should” want or be.

As a secondary focus, I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for low-acuity anxiety-spectrum concerns, such as chronic worry, overthinking, rumination, or stress related to work and daily life. CBT tools can be helpful for stabilizing symptoms and increasing clarity, especially when anxiety is interfering with sleep, focus, or decision-making.

Clients often describe my style as calm, perceptive, and grounded. I value precision, honesty, and depth—without pressure, urgency, or judgment. Therapy with me is a space to slow down, listen more closely, and allow something truer to emerge.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Dr. Marcia Garceau. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I’ve been working with Dr. Garceau for a few months now, and I really appreciate all the advice she’s been giving me. She’s very patient and attentive, and I feel like I can talk about pretty much anything without being judged. At the same time, she always asks the right questions that help me think more about my issues. I also like that she’s not too directive during our calls, she lets me speak my mind and steps in when I say something that kind of “clicks” or feels important to dig into. Appreciate a lot working with her.

Dr. Garceau has been helping me for 10 months now and it's been life-changing. She has immense knowledge and patience. Her style is compassionate and professional. Her advice has been golden and her comments very thoughtful. She has helped me navigate everything from personal relationships with my husband & sons to extended family members to work challenges with my leadership to my volunteer circle to global issues that concern me. We have talked about everything and it's all connected. She is open-minded and has been able to guide the discussions to focus on my needs and my feelings, to find root causes and to navigate through it all. Very grateful for her time and expertise.

I am a 58 yo female and have done a fair share of counseling over the years. Dr. Garceau is one of the best therapists I’ve ever had. She listens deeply. She is wise and compassionate. She helps me rediscover my own self-compassion. She is helping me through a challenging time in my life and I feel very fortunate to have found her here.

Dr Garceau is wonderful. She is very attentive and offers practical advice. She takes notes which not all therapists do (I know - hard to believe!). She offers practical solutions, sends me tools and is always quick to respond to me.
