About Me
Hello!
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Minnesota. I have been working in the mental health field since 2014. I graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University in 2014 and began working in a residential treatment center. I started graduate school at the University of South Dakota. I graduated in 2016 with a Masters of Social Work. I then worked in a hospital setting for a short period of time. After that, I went to work at an outpatient mental health clinic in Southwest Minnesota which I have continued working at since. I really enjoy my work and having a positive impact on peoples lives.
I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including, but not limited to depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, trauma, abuse, bullying, relationship issues, parenting, addiction, teen concerns, life changes and concerns that arise during adjustment periods.
My therapeutic style is person-centered, yet relaxed and non-threatening. I will work to build a healthy and beneficial therapeutic relationship with you. I treat everyone with respect and compassion. This includes meeting the client where they are and work on things they feel are most important or impacting them the most. I have experience with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), but mainly utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which is short term and goal oriented. CBT helps clients recognize negative patterns of thinking and behavior that impact their lives and works to provide healthy ways to challenge these thoughts and behaviors. With CBT, it is important to recognize these patterns, which may include me challenging your thought processes and behaviors. Overall, my therapeutic style is based on what the client needs/wants, which we can discuss as we move forward.
It is a big decision to reach out to receive help, you should be proud of yourself for taking this step and realizing you deserve more. I am honored to be able to help you with your concerns and reaching your goals. I am excited to chat with you and can't wait to help!

Very easy to talk to and very honest!
Margaret is great at what she does! She approached me with understanding and a listing ear. She is a direct communicator who worked to understand my my perspective and identify key areas that helped my better understand myself.
Margaret is a really good listener. She established goals with me and reminds me that I need to take care of myself. She asks me reflective questions, to help me think outside of my perspective. She reinforces and praises my efforts in reaching my personal goals. I am able to cope more with life struggles and check in a little less.
Margaret is very good at her profession and I’m comfortable talking to her
Only been with her for a week ish but she really dove into my problems and gave me things to help I’ve never had any kind of counseling/therapy in my life and I would recommend it
Margaret is very helpful, she tries her best to really understand what you are feeling and going through, asks the right questions and gives the right responses.
Margaret is a great counselor! She makes me feel heard and works to find a solution that works for me- not just the obvious advice. I feel like she really listens to what I have to say and cares.
Margaret is really great at helping identify your personal struggles and how to go about resolving them in your own lifestyle and at your own pace. I needed someone familiar with family issues and she’s amazing with my situation. I would highly recommend her to another person.
Margaret is a very understanding person and is very open and helpful in her advice and the tools she gives me to use have brought me a long way in a short amount of time.
Margaret has really been able to understand me and adjust to my needs better than anyone else I’ve talked to. She asks all the right questions and applies the right pressure.
I've appreciated getting to know and trust Margaret over the course of the last 6 months. She is a patient listener, a good sounding board, and responds to questions and messages in a timely manner. She is above all very kind and willing to work with me to set goals, hold me accountable, and bolster my confidence in myself. As a person who struggles with depression and mood instability, the consistency of speaking with her and her words of affirmation as well as encouragement to see myself in a more positive light when my outlook is bleak has helped me come to a place of more peace. I'm grateful for her help.
Margaret was AWESOME to work with. Challenged my anxious brain to dive deep and figure out the root of some of my issues. Worked through my relationship with my parents with me. Kind, friendly, easy to talk to.
I’ve been working with Margaret for a few weeks and so far I’m impressed. I was nervous about a virtual/mobile platform and it being helpful. She’s been so responsive and checking in and really there for me. I’d highly recommend her.
Margaret is really kind and helpful to my needs. She asks questions in a way that helps me think differently about things and find some light at the end of the tunnel
She is amazing, very attentive and the most helpful person I have ever talked to!
Margaret has been very helpful and an excellent listener.
Margaret has been helping me through a divorce. She is the best counselor I have had and I have used many apps similar to BetterHelp! She gets to know you as a person and understands what you're going through.
I love better help and Margaret has been great. Even when things are going ok and I don't need to message consistently, she takes time to reach out and check in. And when things aren't going ok, she's very responsive and helpful.
Margaret has been a great therapist. She is always there to listen and has given me lots ideas to help with my anger.
Wonderful councilor. Listens and offers help without judgement.
Margaret has been great! She respond to me quickly, has had great advice, and validated my feelings and concerns. I recommend her to everyone!
