Maria Dias, LCSW
Maria is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who has been providing psychotherapy services for 15 years. Maria initially earned her Bachelor degree in Liberal Arts from Rutgers University, double majoring in Psychology and Social Work. Following, she completed a Masters degree in Social Work from New York University, in 2005. Since then, Maria has continued her education by staying up to date with different therapeutic skills and modalities. Part of her continuing training include post graduate training in Clinical Work with Adolescents and their families following evidence based tools, psychoanalytic training, hypnotherapy, and specialized training in the treatment of Panic and Anxiety.
With an appreciation for both the ways in which as human beings we have so much in common, yet we are also very unique, Maria believes in the importance to get to know each person, instead of boxing the individual into a theory. As a result, Maria practices using an eclectic approach, with the main focus on providing each person a safe place to discuss and explore hopes, fears, wishes, set goals and work towards them at each individual’s pace, within a safe, non-judgmental space.
