Welcome! My name is Maria Soledad and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. I have over 15 years of experience working in the mental health field. I have worked with a broad range and severity of clinical issues. I have the most experience working with depression, anxiety, family/relationship conflicts, life transitions, and complex trauma/abuse. I also have experience working with immigration/acculturation issues.
My therapy style is warm and supportive. I focus on providing compassionate and strength based counseling, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I always highlight the importance of helping you change the question “what’s wrong with me?” to “what’s happened to me?”.
My approach combines trauma focus, cognitive-behavioral, family systems and psychodynamic therapy. I will work with you in setting specific goals to meet your unique needs, keeping in mind that you are the expert of your own life.
