About me

I believe in meeting people where they are at. The most important aspect of therapy is trust and respect in a non judgmental environment. My philosophy is that most people have the answers to their problems deep within. Cognitive Behavioral therapy is an effective approach to help individuals tap into their true inner selves, where solutions can be found.
I possess a Masters Degree in Clinical Counseling from Bellevue University in Nebraska. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas, as well as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in the state of Texas. I Trained in Eye Movement Desensitization from the EMDRIA institute in 2016. and practiced as a therapist for 10 years. My background as a counselor began in treating alcoholism and addictions. I recognized that persons suffering from alcoholism and addiction, commonly struggled with other co occurring mental health disorders.

My approach is eclectic, client centered using evidence based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral therapy (DBT), Solution focused, strength based approaches. I am a trained trauma therapist, utilizing EMDR, as well as CPT.
I specialize in working with adults with anxiety disorders, depression, PTSD and trauma, childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, low self esteem, social issues, emotion dysregulation, mood disorders, life transitions, grief and loss, communication and codependency issues, or general support..
