Dr. Marilyn Sails, LCSW
About me
Hello, I am Dr. Marilyn L. Sails, the owner and licensed practitioner with Comfort Care Counseling with Dr. Sails. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience supporting older adults and families through life’s most tender transitions. I hold both a Doctorate in Social Work Education (DSW) and a Masters in Clinical Social Work (MSW) from the University of Kentucky. I have dedicated my career to helping patients navigate grief, trauma, chronic illness, and end-of-life concerns with dignity and compassion. My practice, Comfort Care Counseling, is rooted in Christian faith and designed especially for adults 50 and older. Whether we meet in my office in Nicholasville, KY or via telehealth or in the comfort of your home, you’ll find a safe, supportive space where emotional healing and spiritual restoration go hand in hand.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect: Your first session is a gentle beginning. We’ll take time to get to know each other, discuss your concerns, and explore what brought you to therapy. You can expect a warm, respectful conversation free of judgment and full of compassion. I’ll explain how Comfort Care Counseling works, answer any questions, and begin crafting a care plan that reflects your emotional goals and spiritual values. Whether you’re grieving, adjusting to a new season of life, or simply seeking peace, our first meeting is the first step toward healing with faith as our foundation.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions: My therapeutic approach blends clinical expertise with deep empathy and spiritual care. I believe emotional healing is most powerful when it’s grounded in grace, compassion, and biblical wisdom. I will walk alongside clients as they process grief, adjust to life changes, and rediscover peace and purpose. Each session is tailored to honor your story, your faith, and your emotional needs. Together, we’ll create a space where you feel heard, supported, and gently guided toward healing.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve: I am best positioned to serve adults 50 and over who are navigating life transitions, grief, anxiety, or the challenges of aging who are seeking a supportive, faith-informed space to reflect and grow. Many of my clients value a compassionate, structured approach that helps them reframe unhelpful thought patterns, strengthen resilience, and find renewed purpose. Whether their goals involve managing stress, deepening spiritual grounding, or building practical coping skills, I work alongside them to create a path toward healing and hope.
