Marisa Zimmerman, LICSW
About me
I’m a passionate and experienced clinical social worker with over 17 years of supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges. While I’ve had the privilege of working with clients across the lifespan—including children, adolescents, and adults—I now focus primarily on working with young adults ages 18 to 35.
Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, or major life transitions, I bring a compassionate, grounded approach to therapy. I believe deeply in the power of hope—and in our ability to find resilience even in difficult times. In our work together, my goal is to help you develop a more hopeful, empowered mindset, and to support you as you move toward greater clarity, confidence, and well-being.
My counseling style is warm, supportive, and grounded in respect. I care deeply about who you are—in all of your identities—and I strive to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and understood. I am LGBTQIA-affirming and approach therapy with a strengths-based lens, helping you recognize your resilience and tap into your inner resources.
I draw from solution-focused, mindfulness-based, task-centered, and cognitive behavioral therapy approaches to help you clarify your vision for the future and take practical steps toward your goals.
