Mark Nguyen, Psychologist
About me
I am a licensed clinical psychologist dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with resilience and self-compassion. I specialize in chronic pain, trauma, and behavioral addictions. I help adults overcome emotional challenges and rediscover purpose through supportive, evidence-based therapy.
My approach is evidence-based, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs. I draw from ACT, CBT, Trauma-Focused Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Interventions. I believe in treating the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—and integrating strategies that promote both emotional and functional recovery.
I primarily work with adults dealing with chronic pain, trauma, depression, anxiety, and behavioral addictions, including gambling. Many of my clients struggle with the emotional impact of physical limitations or persistent stress, and together we work toward rebuilding a sense of control, purpose, and connection.
I am warm, attentive, and down-to-earth. I aim to build genuine trust through empathy and active listening while offering honest feedback and practical guidance. You can expect our sessions to feel supportive but also focused on growth—I believe in balancing compassion with accountability so that therapy remains both healing and productive.
Therapy with me is collaborative and goal-focused. Together, we’ll create a personalized plan and take small, achievable steps to build confidence and lasting change. I help clients manage pain, heal from trauma, and live with greater balance, purpose, and fulfillment.
Before clinical practice, I spent 15 years as a Principal and Director of Special Education and also served as an Assistant Professor in School Psychology. Working closely with students, families, and future clinicians inspired me to become a psychologist, drawn to helping clients heal, build resilience, and reach their full potential.

Very easy going, and really hears what you have to say.

He’s the first therapist. I’ve spoken to that actually listens and understands and talks back to me and not down to me.
