I imagine you may be experiencing a number of emotions. Are you feeling overwhelmed by the process of selecting a counselor? Hopeful about the possibility of receiving support and making change? Skeptical about how an online therapist profile can actually give you a sense of a therapist's approach and how you might be able to work with them?
You're not alone.
I can tell you facts about me. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensed in the States of California, Oregon and Washington. I attended the University of California, Berkeley and received Masters in Social Work (MSW) and Public Health (MPH) and have had over 10 years of experience providing counseling to the medically sick, terminally ill, the bereaved, veterans and many others. I am experienced in and often use Dialectical Behavioral therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and I use a Humanistic approach that is Solution-Focused. These are techniques and approaches that you can Google to learn more about me but they alone may not tell you if you and I will work well together.
Beyond the technical trainings and skills, here is who I am.
I believe in therapy. I believe the statement that “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care”. Practicing therapy gives me the opportunity and joy of practicing caring in a professional and skilled way. The therapy outcomes research bears this out: Across all treatment approaches, the most important correlates of positive therapy outcomes are: 1. Therapist characteristics (empathy, warmth, genuineness) 2. Alliance between therapist and client 3. Adoption of new behaviors by client

I really appreciate Marc's timeliness and how much attention he pays to the details. I don't have any other experience with counselors but this one and it's been very positive. I'm very thankful for this.
Mark has been amazing! He knows what to say and asks the right questions, I recommend him to anybody with similar issues I have in the least. Great guy!
Mark Yeung has been a great to share my issues with. He always makes sure he is hearing what my issues are and gives meaningful advise and resources to help me along my journey. I feel empowered knowing I can share my thoughts and feelings with a safe person. He also is always prompt in his responses, so I know when I share something, I will not have to wait with my own thoughts for too long.
I have had great conversations and advice from Mark Yeung.
Mark offers great information to validate my thoughts and feelings. He listens and offers advice in a compassionate way.
Mark has been great and while I wish I could talk more or on an actual call, I like his persona and advice.
Mark Yeung, I find is very confident in his teachings and he is very kind in his words.
I've never done counseling before in my life. It would been kind of nice if I had him on a phone or virtual however messaging back and forth work just fine for me and him.
I definitely would recommend him if you're not really into the phone calls or video.
My husband and I are back on track and I appreciate his kind words and his teachings..
Mark has been extremely attentive to everything that I disclose. He’s not only provided me support but insight and encouragement to let me know I’m on a good path to self improvement and discovery. Furthermore, Mark has provided me valuable insight on my romantic relationship, specifically with learning more about the relationship dynamics and how to build a stronger, healthier relationship.
Mark is a very caring and helpful therapist. He checks on me regularly, and he genuinely seems to have my best interests at heart. I'm really glad I got to work with him!
Mark is terrific. His guidance has helped me to more productively grapple with the challenges I face.
Dr. Mark was of great help for my anxiety and depression. He understood my situation very accurately and gave me inputs which were very very specific to my situation, not some generic stuff.
Mark has been an incredible counselor for me. I have paired with more than a handful of counselors on this site, and none have worked out for me, except for Mark. He is the only one that addressed what I said at the level of detail that I am looking for and matches with how I process things. He is very in tune with what I write and what I say and maintains the continuity of our conversation. I do not feel like what I say gets forgotten or doesn't get addressed. Mark thoroughly addresses the topics we discuss and I feel that he is really paying attention and cares. He is very professional and puts the effort and concern behind his work and communication that I feel every counselor should. In addition, he has been so receptive to my communication style, tailoring a perfect mixture of messaging and live sessions. I am so thrilled to finally be working with a counselor that I can really connect with and learn from and feel like I'm really gaining something. I couldn't be happier and I'm looking forward to continue making progress with Mark. Thank you Mark!!
