My name is Marla Hummel. I graduated with a Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Houston and a Masters in Counseling from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, client-centered, and motivational interviewing. I have experience working with individuals struggling with negative self-talk, low self-esteem, depression, mood instability, substance use, irrational thought processes, anxiety, history of trauma, identity development, attachment issues, grief and loss, elder care issues and concerns in dealing with aging parents. I have extensive experience working with the military and their family members and have been a therapist for over 33 years. Marla has helped me tremendously. She's showed me it's okay to not be okay and that there is always something we can take from situations. She's helped me deal with a lot of anxiety and the root of it which I wouldn't have been able to do alone.
