Dr. Martha Groble

(Ph.D., LMHC)

About Me

I have been working as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Ph.D. in counseling in a psychiatrist (husband) office for 25 years. We closed the practice two years ago due to his illness. Now I want to provide mental health services especially with all the crises of 2020. I have been working in the medical community many years managing his practice then getting qualified to work directly with patients/clients. I have offered considerable PTSD and vocational services with a VA contract in the 1990s and with Veterans Choice since. I did an internship at the local MCC and although I am straight Iam respected in the LGBTQ+ community I have served. I wrote my dissertation and have since published a book on the process and efficacy of internet counseling. It was a double blind study when opportunities for this style of counseling were in their infancy but are still relevant. Throughout my office career I offered video counseling and live chat opportunities. I have worked with a range of traditional psychiatric diseases and disorders to help modify behavior and increase effectiveness of medical treatment provided in the office.

She provides a good balance in conversation that I enjoy in a therapist. She’s kind and very easy to talk to. I think her expertise and experience is very suited for this app.

Dr. Groble provided a safe environment to talk about all I’ve bottled up inside for months, and it was the relief that I needed to think clearly again. With all the trauma that 2020 brought, coupled with isolation and distance from loved ones, she gave me tools to help me move forward. Processing this with her renewed my energy to find healthy new friendships and activities that can be done safely during the pandemic. She reminded me that when we get overwhelmed, we can refocus away from the negativity, focus on the good, and work to define our own life and path. Often we are stressed because we either expect something from other people (or ourselves) that they’re not. She assured me that my struggles are normal, and helped me accept myself a lot more than I’ve ever done before.

Dr. Martye helped me immensely with the many issues I had and would listen to everything I would say with great attention. I will be returning to Dr. Martye when I feel that I need counseling again!

She listens and give excellent advice. She provides “homework” that does not feel overwhelming, but helps me feel more empowered with the issues I’m working through. She is not judgmental and has already taught me a lot about shifting my focus on my strengths and areas I can improve instead of my shortcomings, while working on those areas as well.
