About me

I am both a Mental Health counselor and a Chemical Dependenccy Counselor licensed in Ohio with 35 years of experience. I am also a Certified Hypnotherapist. I specialized in helping people with intense anxiety issues who have sometimes chosen unhelpful coping skills.. I have worked with all kinds of people from all types of backgrounds, families and situations. I believe in starting where the person wants to start and listening to what they need. I have worked in jails, hospitals, treatment centers, shelters
and in colleges.
I was asked why I am still working as a counselor and I replied " I am amazed by us humans. I learn every day about courage and resiliency when I listen to the stories of the
people who are trusting me to join them on their journey. " I believe counseling does work when we work as a team. If this sounds like a good fit to you, let's get started.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Martha Laska. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I started therapy at a point that I was so low and overwhelmed. I was not raised to tell others my problems. I have always been the “strong” friend that never needed help. I always had my life “together”. What most people didn’t know was that I struggled just like everyone else. It seems weird to be over 40 and still learning about my true self. I don’t think I would be at this place in life without Better help or Martha.

My sessions with Marty are very valuable. She doesn't tell me what to do or judge me. She listens, she is sympathetic and she cares for my wellbeing. I feel comfortable telling Marty my troubles without feeling embarrassed.

Martha is one of those people that you instantly can open up to. Her years of experience show in her work. She will tell you how it is, even when it’s hard to hear. After “therapist shopping” the last few years, I can finally say after a dozen professionals that I’ve tried, I’ve finally found the one for me!

Martha has been great! She knows what she is doing and gives great recommendations for things to try. She also responds very quick to messages.

Marty is a wonderful therapist. Honestly, I look at her more than a therapist, but also as a friend and a spiritual advisor. I met her at a dark and confusing part of my life and she has helped me reflect, evolve and grow. Still a work in progress, but making progress. One thing I like about her is that she is real. She tells it like it is. And for me, that is so helpful and needed. So thank you, Marty. And I hope I can continue to share this journey with you.

Marty is very experienced and provides a unique perspective on a variety of topics. She is respectful of people’s time and is always on time to sessions and is flexible with scheduling. She connects with you as a person not just as a patient. I am so happy I found Marty on Better Help.
