About Me

Hi there! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. My approach to therapy has often been described as insightful and practical. My counseling style is client-centered which means that you are the focus of therapy and I consider you to be the ultimate expert on yourself - thus, our work together will involve drawing out your strengths, building on them, and helping you move forward in a warm and supportive environment.

I have been working with families and individuals in a mental health capacity for 5 years now. I have worked with a diverse range of populations and with various mental health issues. More specifically, it has been my privilege to help people heal from and work through issues such as chronic depression, grief, social anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder, multigenerational issues including sibling and parenting issues, boundary setting in relationships, and history of trauma or abuse.

I know that life can get tough leaving us feeling stuck, confused or overwhelmed. Therapy can help, so I am glad you are considering this option. If you decide to work with me, I am confident that together we can find a way to help you move forward and feel in control of your life once again.

I've tried many therapists in the past and nothing stuck. My time spent speaking to Martha has been incredible! I love that I can speak to her from the comfort of my own home and feel such a great connection with her that I forget that we haven't ever met in person. She understands my needs, helps me realize and achieve my goals, does her "homework" on things to tailor her care for me, and always makes me feel like I'm in a safe, cared for space. I have made progress in my life I didn't think possible and it has been the most positive experience! I am so thankful for both Martha and BetterHelp!

Martha Padilla has been so exceptional. I can't describe how happy I was to end up with such a great compassionate counselor. I would go back to her in a heart beat. I appreciate it alot.

I had previously been to an in-person counselor and after a handful of sessions, still felt like I had gotten nowhere and didn’t feel any better. I tried BetterHelp and was matched with Martha, and I can say she was the most helpful, understanding, available counselor I’ve ever talked to. I never felt judged, I felt like she understood me and was there to help. It almost felt like talking to a friend, an honest one that told me the truth and didn’t sugarcoat things. She not only listened and responded, but provided me with tools and worksheets to help with my situations and we would discuss them. I feel so much better and more resolved since talking with Martha. I love that I can message or make a phone call and she’s there to talk. I wish there were more like her out there! I am truly grateful for my experience with her.

Martha always makes me feel heard. She has a vast knowledge of mental issues and has helped me learn so much about myself. It's nice to have a professional to speak with everyday about anything.

I was extremely lucky to get Martha. I'm the type of person that likes resolution, and formulas on how to get over problems and dealing with past issues. Martha readily understands my needs and helps me with unresolved matters. I'm very happy with her, and I highly recommend her. I was in a difficult state of mind when I decided to get help and I had never used the services of an online therapist. I found BetterHelp and well ...found Martha. Very pleased with her help and understanding.

Martha listens to your concerns and offers advice on what I could/should do without any judgment. She also reaffirms my thoughts when I sometimes have doubts.

Martha is good. She is kind in her responses. I love that she seems to understand exactly what I'm talking about and never goes off in another direction. She never leads the conversation. She allows you to talk and follows along at your pace. It's been a good first experience of online therapy.

I benefited greatly from my written and video sessions with Martha. She was attentive to my body language and picked up on what you might believe would be missed in video counseling (if you hadn't had experience with video chatting and good therapy before!). I am appreciative of her candor and the process. I highly recommend Martha!
