There are 100's of therapists on this site! What makes me unique as a counselor? What stands out to me is my personal narrative. I have overcome addiction and my destructive nature. At my lowest point of my life I found myself homeless and alone on the streets begging for money. Today I am grateful, that I have been sober and happily married for 28 years with two children aged 18 and 21. Through these experiences, I have been inspired to get two Masters Degrees in counseling to help others and I have 27 years of experience (USA and UK). This balance of academia and real life exposure gives you a unique counseling experience. I specialize in anger management, stress, couples and family therapy. I know what it takes to make radical changes in ones life. If you are truly ready (for change), so am I.

The progress I have made is astounding. Knowing his focus is on me and my self and mental well being is worth it. He is excellent at what he does!
Working with Marvin has been life changing, he really walks his talk and that makes a huge difference.
I am so grateful for the help and guidance that Marvin provided me. Thank you Marvin! I really think that after your help, I'll be ready to love again. I never want to break a heart again and I really think that I have the tools now to make sure I choose better now for her, whoever she will/or will not be and myself. I highly recommend Marvin to any young man who also grew-up in the "Game-Boy" era and needs help learning how to pick the right relationships.
Marvin has been a great counselor and excellent help in working through some relationship and other issues I have had. I feel like the emotional skills he has helped me develop are a great new asset.
Marvin is relatable, perceptive, and pragmatic. My sessions with him have been grounded in my experiences and have helped me see different ways to look at those experiences. I’ve developed skills in relationship building that are very useful and have helped me build better relationships.
Dr. Lucas or Marvin as I know him is more like a good friend that let's me dump my private thoughts and personal pain on him and it really helps. As terrible as it is to say that I dump on him it is the truth and he not only listens but he hears me. However Marvin is not a yes man, he tells me when I'm whining and not taking action to change. He tells me when my thoughts are valid and he gives me steps to help change my situation. This man is an amazing counselor. Thank you Marvin for all that you do and I recommend Dr. Marvin Lucas to everyone.
He is a great support system for anyone

Marvin was just what I needed. A really nice person with some great advice and techniques on improving my relationship with my father.
