About Me
I am a licensed professional counselor in Oregon that has been practicing for about seven years. I have worked with individuals, couples, young adults, and adolescents and their families with concerns including emotional dysregulation, depression, anxiety, OCD, eating disorders, hoarding disorders, and adjustments to major life changes.
My therapy style is collaborative, compassionate, and non-judgmental; I believe everyone is doing their best and we all need support on our journeys. My approach is behavioral, both cognitive and dialectical, to foster lasting, meaningful change. In addition, I will use validation and emotion-focused techniques in order to build healthy working relationships.
My work experience has allowed me to mentor, supervise, and educate others; I will often bring life skill training into the therapeutic space. I believe in respect, dignity, equity, inclusion, and allyship. I focus on creating brave spaces for our therapeutic work together to nurture healing and growth.
I look forward to working with you and hearing your story!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Mary-Catherine Nimphius. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
I have had many therapists before, all helped and were supportive, but Mary-Catherine has been so easy to connect with and an excellent balance of support with loving pushes to help me get where I want to. I highly recommend her!
From our first session, I felt that Dr. Mary listened so well. She made sense out of my ramblings, focused on what was most helpful and asked good questions. I feel like she is my friend already and I could tell her anything.
I can’t adequately communicate how much she has helped me
Mary has been extremely helpful to me and I want to continue seeing her as long as I feel like I need it. I highly recommend talking to her and using this site.
Mary-Catherine is a great therapist. She is very attentive, a great listener, and easy to talk to.
Very supportive and easy to open up to
