Hello! I am Mary Hales, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist. I obtained my Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Medaille College in NY. I have over 15 years of experience in various settings such as outpatient clinics, hospitals, residential settings, community-based agencies, and private practice. My specialties include anxiety, depression, PTSD, mood disorders, substance and other addictions, trauma, and abandonment, couples, and grief therapy, to name a few. I believe that each individual is unique, and it is important to address each client’s issues with an individualized personal approach, one that is relevant to the person and their current presenting problem. I approach counseling in a manner that empowers individuals to create positive change in their situations. My approach is to use a range of therapeutic modalities, to focus on the clients and their needs. I believe in creating a therapeutic relationship in which clients can feel safe while discussing and exploring their problems. Counseling should be considered a journey of personal exploration, which may lead to major changes in your life perspectives and decisions. It takes courage to take the first steps towards seeking this journey of personal exploration for a more fulfilling and happier life. So, if you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you to achieve your personal goals.
I look forward to working with you!

I love Mary she helping me discover why I feel the way I do.she tells me I can call text her anytime and that makes me feel good.I’m happy that I’m taking the first steps to better my mental health
Mary has been very helpful! She is an amazing listener, and has the ability to provide support for a variety of situations!
Mary is wonderful! She’s so helpful. A great listener.
Mary is flexible, concerned, comforting and gives you a sense of ease when talking about difficult situations. She has been so great for my journey of healing and self acceptance.
East to talk to and flexible.
Mary has been great! She has helped me so much!
Mary is caring, forthright, knowledgable and kind. She offers great support and follow up to things we discuss. Top notch counselor.
Mary has been a perfect fit for me. She has a gentle approach and often goes above and beyond to make sure I'm doing well. I have never had a therapist / counselor care so much and go out of their way as much as she does.
Mary has made my initial time in counseling seemless. She understands my needs, particularly in processing and handling the recent death of my mom, and offers insights and supports that are exactly what I need. I am grateful to have been paired with Mary.
Mary is a great listener and noticed things about me even over video that I would not have been able to figure out my self. She is easy to talk to and gives great advice.
Mary is the best! She really understood my situation. I have been in tough situation for seven years after a very traumatic car accident. I've tried a few psychologist and gave up because they just gave you exercises to try. Mary actually listens, talks to you, and give you suggestions as well! Highly suggest her! ❤
Mary Hales holds a safe space, even over video, for our sessions. She listens deeply and I really feel respected and heard. Mary is able to help me make connections to life events that I’ve never made before. We have only been meeting for 2 sessions, but already I feel like we are getting serious work done.
I adore her. Down to earth and non judge mental
Mary is very encouraging and positive and has good suggestions on things to keep me moving forward. We have wasted some time in conversations bc I have to re-explain people or events in my life, I don't see her taking notes which might help over time.
Mary is awesome because she allows you to find your goals, there is no force or overwhelming into a treatment plan- you figure it out together.
There is a developing respectful relationship that has truly benefited my life!
Mary has a soft intentional approach and that works for me.
I appreciate Mary's expertise, professionalism, and caring.
