About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia, and I have been practicing therapy for 8 years. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, grief, anger, abuse and trauma, OCD, ADHD, low self esteem, stress management, multicultural issues, racism, and adjusting to new life changes. I am also a parent and a pastor's wife, and I have experience working with parenting struggles, spiritual concerns, and church problems.

My therapy style is meant to encourage comfort, trust, motivation, and hope. My goal is to meet you where you are and walk with you towards where you want to be. I believe therapy should be goal oriented, but that each person has a different pace working towards those goals. I utilize approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and humanistic therapy. I try to adjust my approach to the needs and goals of each individual client.

If a client desires, I am also trained and able to use a Biblical approach to therapy. As a Christian, I see the importance of using a Biblical worldview that reminds us that we are all created in God's image and with great dignity, but we all also experience the curse of sin in every aspect of our lives and the world around us. We feels the affects of betrayals, broken relationships, jealousy, pride, sickness, and pain. A faith-based approach to therapy grounded in biblical truths allows us to see ourselves and our struggles on a deeper level, and also gives us hope and assurance that we are not abandoned and left to figure things out all on our own.

Starting therapy is a courageous step towards getting unstuck and moving towards healing, restoration, and a life of joy. I would be honored to work with you along this journey!

Mary Jo Ayllon has been such a blessing. She’s been a great resource and help over the past several months for whatever I may throw her way. This is my first true experience with counseling and I’m really thankful for Mary Jo and BetterHelp

Mary Jo is incredible. No ands, ifs or buts. Incredibly attentive, respectful, warm and friendly, accommodating. I was fortunate that our paths crossed at the right time, including my rock bottom. Thank you.

Mary Jo has been such an amazing help in working through a really hard situation. She is supportive and offers gentle and useful guidance and thoughts. She has helped me formulate my own thoughts about a situation that are healthy and positive. Her Biblical world view has also really helped me feel confident and comfortable taking her advice.

Being an Asian guy the stigma is that we don't go to talk to a therapist we should deal with our problems ourselves, at least for me. You only talk to someone professional if you've gone crazy or insane. At first I was apprehensive a bit skeptical but as we started talking I realized that it was liberating to know that someone can listen and understand you without being judged. She is really professional in her field. I couldn't be more thankful.
