About me
I want you to not just feel better, but to GET better…in a way that makes sense, addresses what is important to you, and leads you towards thriving not just surviving. Many of us know the feeling of treading water, just trying to keep our heads up before another big wave knocks us back down. It can leave you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, ashamed, alone, etc. Good therapy is not a temporary band-aid, but work that will help you develop knowledge & skills that last a lifetime. Real change means becoming better at understanding yourself & others, more skilled in managing & expressing your emotions, & more effective in communicating in your relationships.
I understand that this work takes courage (I’ve been there, too!) and I promise to meet you right where you are, wherever you are, on your healing journey. It is such a privilege for me to witness to our remarkable capacity for resiliency, growth and change. I’m a seasoned trauma specialist & psychotherapist dedicated to creating judgement free zone where you can feel heard and safe. I am a sex positive ally who welcomes clients of all ethnic, cultural, religious, and sexual orientations/identities. If you're curious, please reach out; I'd love to connect with you and see if we'd be a good fit!
I have a specific licensure in SC (LISW-CP) and trauma (TF-CBT, EMDR). Prior to the private practice world, I worked in victims of crime counseling & advocacy, intensive psychiatric treatment at MUSC Children’s Hospital, school counseling, behavior interventions, and crisis intervention. I also specialize in anxiety, depression, PTSD, crisis stabilization, and family work. I love working with teens, young adults, & parents of teens looking for support. Finding a good therapist that matches your energy is important. If you're curious, please reach out; I'd love to connect with you and see if we'd be a good fit!

I am just getting started with Mary. It can take a little while to see if a therapist is a good fit or if they can meet your needs. So far so good and I hope that continues to be the case.
