Mary Selby, LPC
About me
I am a licensed Counselor and Counselor Supervisor in the states of Texas and Georgia with over 15 years of counseling and coaching experience . Additionally, I am certified as a National Board Certified counselor and a Board Certified Tele-Mental Health Provider. I have experience working with diverse individuals with a wide range of concerns including:
Goal setting and positive motivation,
Work/Life balance,
Stress, anxiety
Disability and aging,
Career and academic transitions,
Women and self esteem
My counseling style is nonjudgmental and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I favor a relationship where we both contribute. I am solution oriented, and operate from a coaching model, which requires your direction, discovery, and input for best results. I like to think of our work together as a partnership that is focused on positive outcomes based on your individual needs.
It is important that I get to know you! I hope you will consider scheduling "live sessions" (phone, video, or text chat) early on in the process.
I offer weekday appointments only.
Often I will ask questions or utilize links to web sites, videos, handouts, or worksheets to complete. The more input I get from you, the more I can understand your situations and your concerns.
I will also help you develop goals, usually during the 2nd week, and you will determine your progress towards meeting these goals. They can be mental health goals, career goals, or personal goals. This is your process, and I will support you and your choices in making goals and working towards meeting them through directed and specific tools and techniques.
You are currently preparing to take the first step toward better outcomes, and I am here to provide tools to support and empower you to make positive change.
I look forward to working with you!

Mary is wonderful. She listens and asks the right questions to get me to actually think about how I feel and how I'm processing what I'm going through, and what's important to me. Since signing up for counseling, I have found myself to be much more emotionally healthy and able to function better, with a clearer sense of what's important to me and how I feel about the things that happen in my life.
