Matthew Morris-Wood, LCSW, LMFT
About me
Hello! My name is Matt, and I am a dual-licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT). My passion is helping people overcome barriers to living happy and fulfilled lives - both within themselves and in relationships with others. I have nearly 10 years of experience working with both adults and teens conducting individual, group, family and relationship therapy. My goal is to provide clients a safe and comfortable space to talk about their problems, while also helping them set goals and guiding them toward solutions.
I am comfortable and experienced working with mental health concerns such as depression and anxiety for both adults and teens. I evidenced-based models of therapy while keeping sessions simple and conversational. However, helping people overcome challenges in relationships with others is what I truly love doing. Some examples could be a young adult navigating the dating world, an exhausted parent trying to understand their child's behavior, a middle-aged couple having marital issues, or a teenager being bullied and misunderstood by other kids at school. Building strong, safe, and authentic relationships with others is the way to get through these tough moments in life, and it's what I'm best at helping people to do.
If you feel I could be the right therapist for you, please feel free to reach out. I look forward to hearing from you, and to the possibility of helping you reach your goals.
