About me

Welcome!

My name is Matt Poje, LPC. I specialize in the healing of emotional trauma, using the Instinctual Trauma Response method (ITR),I have 15 years working with Veterans via Department of Defense contracts, and over 23 yrs of professional work experience. I am licensed in CA and WI.

The ITR method uses over 100 years of neuroscience to help heal the brain. Since ITR uses neuroscience, you will learn the steps of the ITR method that will help you to become more resilient.

ITR is not talk therapy in the classical sense. ITR is a focused, purposeful method of trauma healing. ITR is proven to work. If you are ready to work on a proven method of reducing symptoms of trauma, I look forward to work with you.

I do not perform diagnostic tests. I use screening tools, and therefore will not provide any letters to employers or court systems.

Matthew is a wonderful & Kind spirit.
He takes the time to get to know you and truly understand what you are looking for out of your sessions. Very professional and considerate.
I highly recommend working with Matthew.

Matthew came into my life when just about everything seemed lost. Instead of trying to figure it out on my own I decided to get help. If I hadn’t connected with Matthew the way I did I believe I would have many regrets, he listens and understands what I mean from the messy stories I tell him. He has helped me not get caught up in the weeds and stay focus on my goal and does a good job and relating things to stories for me. It’s hard to describe the ways therapy has helped me but I feel like my old self. It’s the knowledge of knowing I have someone to talk to, in a professional way that’s not directly involved with my friends and family, that has just taken a weight off my shoulders. The ability to talk with him allowed me to talk with my friends and family better.
I don’t have to unleash all my thoughts on someone who may not understand or have time to get through it all with me. I will remain in therapy for the foreseeable future. Thank you.
