About Me

Hello and Welcome. My name is Matt Volker, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with more than six years of experience. For some asking for help and speaking to a counselor can be scary; however, by being here, you have already taken the hardest step. By taking the next step, know that you are not alone, and we can walk together through the journey of your life. My desire is to create a safe space for you to work on the things that are important to you.

Some of the intervention that I utilize are Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Positive Psychology and Reality Therapy. I work with adults, adolescents, and couples, with a focus on working toward optimal functioning. I use a holistic approach integrating a mind, body, and a spiritual approach, while incorporating mindfulness and meditation into your life to bring awareness and calmness.

I would ask that you take a breath… You have made the first choice to get better… Are you ready to begin?
Namaste…

Matthew Volker is my first therapist on Betterhelp. What a home run! I mesh very well with him and he creates a safe space to help me sort through things. Couldn't be happier.

Matt is such a calming influence in my life! He helps me see my problems and past trauma from a new perspective. He helped me feel so much better after just a few conversations. I can’t say enough praise to express how much I appreciate his help.

Matthew has been so supportive and helpful from the first session! We’re working on things I’ve needed to work on for a long time, but he encourages me gently into talking about what I’m comfortable with. Highly recommend!

My weekly sessions with Matthew are an essential part of my week. I look forward to our sessions even when I know the work might be challenging, and I am so appreciative of his patience and support as we tackle many different topics together. Matthew has already helped me discover a plethora of tools I can use to navigate difficult times and situations, and I am so thankful for the opportunity to continue to grow with his guidance.

Matt is a great guy.

Listens to my concerns, which prompts a thoughtful response but he’s also on my level. I don’t feel like I’m talking to a therapist instead i feel like I am talking to someone who genuinely wants to help me and not mark me as another client.

Matt’s ability to be honest open and let me choose the direction of the conversation often gets me to say what’s really on My mind which is why I’m here.

Noticeable differences between now and before I started my anxiety And overall sense of worry has lessened in part to what Matt has taught me and allowed me to see what is and isn’t working for me.

He helps you come to the realization for yourself which is where the real progress happens.

Thank you Matt for your patience, time, honesty and overall support. My first therapist and he hit it out of the park.

PS - better help give this guy a raise will ya? He’s earned it

My sessions with Matthew quite literally changed my life for the better. He was an attentive listener, and always gave thoughtful advice. He offered me practical tools, that I am now equipped to take on whatever life has to throw at me, wether good or bad. I am forever grateful for his keen understanding, knowledge, and guidance. Highly recommend his counseling.

I always find the motivation and energy to go on about my daily life after my sessions with my therapist. Being from a different culture, he always asks questions rather than just assume based on what he has been read and told. This helps me immensely since by explaining to him, he could have a better understanding and help me cope and find solutions to my problems. I always end my sessions feelings happy and nostalgic, and this is coming from a person that lives in an incredibly toxic environment. I’d recommend him in a heart beat.
