I am a licensed clinical social worker/therapist licensed in the District of Columbia and the state of Maryland with over 10 years of experience. I have had the opportunity to work with children and families, young adults as well as the elderly dealing with varying issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, dealing with societal and environmental stressors while hospitalized as well as with the community. These issues often interrupt our daily lives and can feel debilitating. However, when one has a trusting therapeutic relationship with someone who cares, one can work towards a path to appropriately managing these issues and eventually freedom.
My counseling style is interactive, empathetic, and warm. It is my belief that listening is the key to success in a therapeutic relationship and every client that I am blessed to serve will feel heard. Being treated with dignity, respect and compassion are also the tenets that I abide by and will display that in every interaction and intervention. My approach combines strengths therapy, cognitive-behavior therapy and solution-focused therapy to ensure that the highest level of outcome is achieved as outlined by a treatment plan that will be tailored to your needs.
It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Maureen A-Ngeh. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
She actually had a conversation with me and asked clarifying questions so it didn’t seem like I just had to talk about my life. She had a very warm presence.
The sessions with Maureen has given me insight and my relationships with others have improved. I have been having sessions with her for over a year and have seen great improvements in my quality of life. Maureen is professional and trustworthy. She has helped me navigate friendships, resigning from my job, and international relocation. I am grateful for Maureen's expertise.
Maureen does a great job of allowing me to talk my way through various stressors with her comments it questions serving as guideposts that help me navigate my way through.
She is a very aware therapist. She took a session or two to ask questions. Once she figured out where I was mentally she accurately assessed the most effective tone, comparisons and verbiage to help me relate and reflect on better habits.
I am so happy to be working with her. She has helped me so much.
Maureen is a great listener and she offered me great advice
Maureen is a kind and caring counselor. She listens to her client and responds appropriately. She is beyond genuine and cares about her clients.
Maureen is lovely and calming and is a huge help to my anxiety.
Although Maureen and I just got started, I think she’s been a great help to me.
I've only had two sessions with Maureen, but she makes me feel as if we've been through many more. She is very respectful and listens carefully. I look forward to my future sessions with her.
