I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Connecticut with over 10 years of experience working as a Counselor. I have worked with clients in different age groups and phases of life, experiencing a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, ADHD, parenting and co-parenting challenges, relationship issues, low self esteem and self image issues. I have worked with many clients who have experienced various types of trauma, as well as those who have been struggling with issues of grief, loss, and life transitions. I have worked with Servicemembers, Veterans of all ages as well as their families.
My therapy style is interactive and collaborative, and I respect that the decision to begin counseling is rarely easy. Many people don't know exactly where to start when they begin counseling and this is absolutely to be expected, as this is part of our work together. While my approach is integrative, I find aspects of the humanistic and cognitive-behavioral theories are often helpful throughout counseling.
Considering every person is unique, with their own life experiences, strengths, needs and goals, I believe it is important to work with my clients to make sure counseling is not only individualized but productive as well. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile and I look forward to working with you to define and work towards your goals.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Maureen Sulliman. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Maureen is amazing. She is very attentive and knows how to guide the conversation to areas you may not know how to start. She also asks questions that gets you thinking and makes you put the pieces together in your head, instead of just agreeing with everything you say. Her scientific approach makes everything relatable and helps me personally understand things better. Overall an amazing therapist!

I've had quite a bit of therapy throughout my life and Maureen is quite different from anyone I have seen previously. Maybe it's because I'm getting older, but I can talk to Maureen more like a friend than like a therapist.
Whatever the reason, Maureen seems to have penetrated my shell and somehow managed to see parts of me that even I can't see (good parts).
The other day, I was talking with a friend and I put it this way: once a week I get to be seen as a smart and overall good person. That's really rare for me and I think it's essential to my therapy.
