About me
Hello!
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Iowa (LMHC #081853) and have been working in the field of counseling and behavioral health for over 5 years. My experience includes working with children and families involved in the child protective system, and with adolescents to adults with a variety of presenting struggles. My experience across the outpatient setting has ranged from in-person within homes, office, and school settings. Much of my experience comes with working and assisting clients managing depression, anxiety - including generalized and social anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, parenting issues, along with adjustment issues, crisis, and personal growth.
As I engage in providing therapy to clients, I will often engage in a client-centered approach; with this approach, I will encourage you to identify the needs you have and bring about our focus on where your goals will guide us. With a Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT) approach, we focus on connecting your understanding of your thoughts and feelings to situations and the behavior they bring about. Through a Solution-Focused lens, we identifying strengths, what aspects of your problem is working and going well, and work to build upon these areas.
Throughout the journey in therapy, we work to identify your goals, and my approach encompasses involvement of the client as much as possible. As we focus on changing aspects within your life, I value your input and assist you in building insight and supports to encourage growth on your own and across all areas of your life.
