Megan Bartz

About Me

Hello! My name is Megan Bartz and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have over 3 years of experience working with individuals in outpatient and inpatient settings who are struggling with mental health and substance use disorders. I am passionate about treating individuals holistically and believe that the counseling relationship is one of the main vehicles for change as it provides a safe place for individuals to process and progress. I am person-centered and believe in not only being genuine with everyone I work with, but also treating you with unconditional positive regard. Ultimately, one of my main goals in treatment is to help individuals discover what gives them hope as I believe that hope is imperative in order for change to occur. I also draw from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy in order to help individuals discover how their thinking is affecting their emotions and their behaviors and then how to learn to think differently so that they may find a different outcome. Ultimately, I believe you are the expert on yourself and that it can also be helpful at times to have a fresh perspective to walk alongside you as you journey to a place of greater self-awareness. My main priority is listening to what your needs are and helping you find a way to make those a reality. I would love the opportunity to work with you, thank you!

Megan is so wonderful! She makes me feel understood and gives out fantastic resources for what I'm dealing with when its applicable. She is quick to respond and pays attention to everything I express. She is very present and makes me feel seen. I always look forward to our weekly call sessions. When I talk to her, I feel like I'm talking to a very close friend!

Megan has done an excellent job working with me to identify my stressors, implement strategies for change, and reflect on what works and what doesn't work. She is caring and compassionate and knows the right questions to ask to get to the bottom of what is going on. She is ultra responsive and has exceeded all expectations of what I thought online counseling would look like. She is flexible and willing to give you the amount of time you need. Person centered counselor, for sure and she is not kidding that she will treat you with unconditional positive regard.

Talking through my feelings, emotions, and embarrassments with Megan has helped me to focus on what really bothers me and what really matters. She’s patient and gives me a space to dump it all. She’s provided me with worksheets and processes to improve or change my negative thinking and in the last month, I’ve felt more proud and honored to love things about me that I thought met we’re lost.

Megan is an incredible counselor. She offers different perspectives and helps bounce thinking off into new and important directions. She is not judgmental and clearly cares at a human level. Her style is very open and empathetic and she treats you as an expert on yourself, which works very well for me. She has been walking through a period of time with a lot of upheaval for me and I could not have gotten through it without her.

Megan played a pivotal role in helping me work through my relationship problems and provided amazing insight on areas in which I wasn't fully self aware of. I would recommend her to anyone who is seeking advice on their relational issues and need an ear to listen.

Megan is very perceptive, understanding and emotionally intelligent. She challenges me consistently to help me get to my truest self. Remarkably, she is also honest about her own biases, which helps me understand where she is coming from.
