MegAnne Anderson, LCSW
About me
Sometimes our experiences in life have a way of causing us to believe that we are less than who we are - less good, less lovable, and less safe. Trauma and grief - especially disenfranchised grief - can cause us to disconnect from our lives, the people we love, and our overall sense of belonging, causing us to feel unsettled, anxious, and lost. My strength-based, trauma-informed approach draws primarily from cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness practices, narrative therapy, and internal family systems to support self-exploration, understanding, and personal growth. My role in counseling involves acknowledging clients' own wisdom through supportive, empathetic connection, and creating a safe space for every person to explore their identity, define their goals and values, and change their lives.
I am honored to work with teens, adults, and elders of every background, orientation, religion, and belief system. I will create and hold a confidential, non-judgmental space for us to explore your true self and engage in personal progress. You can expect authenticity, compassion, genuine interest, and acceptance from me, and together we will look at and assign language to your life experiences while discovering and building upon your innate strengths and abilities. Whether you're looking to change negative thinking habits, self-esteem, behavioral patterns, or relationships, I am here to provide affirmative care to help you leverage your strengths into your greatest growth.
