Melanie Irwin, LICSW
About me
I am a licensed therapist with more than 25 years of experience helping individuals navigate life's challenges and transitions. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, adjustment to major life changes, college and academic stress, divorce, parenting challenges and empty nest transitions
I believe that therapy is not one size fits all, and I tailor my approach to meet each client's unique needs and goals. My work incorporates evidence based modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Whatever the approach, I believe that the most important piece is building a therapeutic relationship where the client feels understood, supported, empowered, and better equipped to not only get through life, but to thrive.
