About me

I am a mental health counselor with over 3 years of experience in counseling. I have worked a lot with depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, ODD, OCD, anger, and schizophrenia. I provide talk therapy from an existential perspective. I provide most of my client with short term outpatient mental health counseling 1-4 times monthly. I have experience with all age groups and currently am seeing clients from age 5 to 75. Therapy often includes homework assignments. I work to make my clients feel as comfortable as they can so they can share their thoughts and feelings with me without fear of judgement.
The counseling relationship involves the sharing of concerns, feelings, aspirations and personal stories with a skilled professional that help guide the client to process and explore alternative solutions about a particular issue. Counseling is an interpersonal psychotherapeutic practice guided by legal and ethical standards. It provides individuals, couples and families with assessment, evaluation, diagnosis, psychoeducation, and guidance to develop goals and implement a counseling plan.
It is my responsibility to my clients to provide them with a trusting, respectful, compassionate, safe environment for self-exploration that is free of judgment. I come from an existential perspective. I believe in highlighting capacities and encouraging people to take responsibility for their own successes.

I think that Melanie is a fantastic therapist and a great person. She listens to me and has my best interest at heart. She is always challenging me to think Beyond what's in front of me and to make the right choices. She always respond in a timely manner and it's always quite relevant

In the short amount of time I've been on betterhelp Melanie has been such a big comfort to talk to. She's very lovely and I enjoy talking to her. It takes a weight of my chest talking to her.

I just recently started using Better Help and I went in thinking it’s just an outlet for venting. After starting my mind was changed. My counselor Melanie is very helpful, she gives me another point of view to analyze things and gives helpful advice and even gives me worksheets to complete to help me improve on things. It’s different than anything I’ve heard in movies or from friends doing therapy but I enjoy it.
