About me

My name is Melissa Budzynski and I am a masters level social worker in the state of Michigan. I have been practicing in the field of mental health for nearly 30 years. I have a wide variety of clinical experiences which include: Infant mental health and parenting, teens and youth, attachment, depression, addictions and family structures after recovery, grief and loss, traumatic grief, chronic illness, end of life, and adjustment to life's changes.
My approach is warm and welcoming, creating a safe, nonjudgmental space for people to lean into, explore and engage with the healing they are seeking. It is my belief that asking for help is a strength that can be built upon. We can work together to figure out what works for you and helps you to get to the goals you desire. It is a privilege to walk with people as they trust me with their personal story and allow me to help in their healing.
Some of the modalities I use are: Art therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, along with evidenced-based therapies from deep reflection to Mindfulness.
I look forward to talking with you to see if we are a good match.

Melissa is insightful and wise, and strikes the perfect balance between neutral objectivity and friendly kindness. She's been a great help to me in my life as I go through some big changes, and I don't know where I'd be without her.

I've only had a few sessions with Melissa so far but she is hands down the best therapist I've worked with. I feel like she actually listens to my concerns and helps me talk through them and figure out what is it that I'm feeling and what I need. Where I feel a lot of other therapists go straight to offering solutions, Melissa really listens and lets you come to your on conclusions. I would recommend her to anyone that is looking for help.

Honestly I've only had one session with Melissa, but I feel that we formed a quick bond of communication. She's very good at recapping my statements so she can address my problems - it makes me feel better that she's actively listening and giving feedback on both the front of the question and the end,
