Melissa Loudon

About me

I am a Clinical Social Worker licensed in both Missouri and Kansas. I have worked with various populations of people over my 16 year career including adjudicated youth, children and families in the child welfare system, and people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The people I have had the privilege of serving come from all walks of life and have encountered a myriad of personal challenges. I feel confident in supporting individuals struggling with situational depression, anxiety, past trauma, communication and relationship issues, family dynamics, grief and loss, and job satisfaction issues. I'm also eager to support individuals in the LGBTQ+ population.

I believe in the dignity and worth of every person. I want to meet you where you are without judgment. My approach is warm and supportive. I believe therapeutic work is a partnership and that we are equals. I most often utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing techniques, but am eager to tailor your treatment plan to your unique needs.

Verbally processing the challenging things in life can make them significantly more manageable. Seeking therapy is such a vulnerable and brave thing to do and I'm inspired by that courage! I'm honored when anyone trusts me enough to invite me into their world to do such important work.

I'm looking forward to working with you!

Melissa is so kind and easy to talk to. She also relates to me in a way that makes me feel comfortable opening up. Her advice is always exactly what I need to hear.

I’ve been meeting with Melissa for about a year now and she has been nothing short of amazing. I started therapy to help with the constant anxiety I had around getting sick. With time she has taught me tools to help manage my anxiety and set routines to help feel in control of situations that are hard to control. Thanks to her I am capable to deal with the things that have been thrown my way.

Melissa is one of the best counselors that I have had the pleasure of interacting with. She truly has a wide view and understanding of the human mind and emotions. not only was she able to listen but she also prompted and encouraged me to think outside of my view point. I was able to understand my situation with so much clarity and peace after my sessions with her.
