About me

I am a licensed mental health counselor, licensed marriage and family therapist and substance use disorder professional in the State of Washington with over 15 years of experience. I have worked primarily for the military so I am very familiar with the military culture and lifestyle. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including addiction, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, midlife/existential crisis, divorce, career changes and parenting struggles.

My therapy style is open, nonjudgmental, interactive and I seek to empower clients. I specialize in CBT, motivational interviewing but I also incorporate family systems theory. I believe you're the expert in your own life and I am just here to help you along the path that would make you the better version of yourself. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. This is your therapy and your time. Building a strong therapeutic relationship where you can be comfortable, open and honest is first and foremost.

It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. The fact that you're reading this is the first step in healing and growing. I commend you for taking the next steps to seek help to be the best version of yourself!

I love working with Melissa. She is so thoughtful and caring with her listening and responses. I really feel see and heard. She comes to each meeting with great ideas and helpful tools for me to use and research to help me on my path. I am so glad that we were matched and I have referred her to many others.

Absolutely fantastic. Established a rapport quickly and easily. It always seems like she is invested in me and trying to understand me and my needs. Communicates well and reaches out often. Very easy to talk to and always sympathetic.
