I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with over 9 years of experience. I specialize in work with people who have experienced trauma, anxiety and depression. I also have significant experience in working with people who might be struggling with parenting concerns, relationship issues or family concerns.
My counseling style is to approach each person with wonder, respect and acceptance. I provide a nonjudgmental and culturally aware perspective. Although I am not a person of color, I have unique life and work experiences that allow me to have knowledge and understanding of communities of color. I utilize reflection and a person-centered approach as the basis of my practice and may use techniques from cognitive behavioral, strengths-based and humanistic modalities. I want my help to be what you need and will work with you to individualize your treatment to fit your unique needs.

A friend recommended me to Better Help, and at first I was skeptical. Although after meeting Melissa I was so relieved. I can easily talk to her about all my issues and concerns - with no fear of judgement. She is extremely kind and gives me a fresh perspective that allows me to productively move forward through my issues. I was dealing with a situation that had no positivity or resolution for months - and as soon as I started seeing Melissa her ideas/ways to approach the situation has helped me properly tackle the issues at hand, as well as better my mental health. Melissa is a lovely person and I am very grateful to have met her.
Melissa is amazing! I know she has many clients, but she is wonderful at remembering all of the ins and outs of what we’ve talked about. She doesn’t make it “feel” like a therapy session, but more so like an unbiased opinion that is trustworthy like a friend to talk you through your emotions/situation.
